Having a pinkish-orange color, Mumm Grand Cordon Rose gives an expectation of a satisfying moment with its distinctive bottle design and unique rose color.
While being poured into glasses, the harmony of red fruits having soft fresh and yeast scents amplify the expectation.
However, it is the tasting that turns the expectation into disappointment. The unsatisfactory taste, insufficient carbonic acid, and a little bit of bitterness lead to a bad evaluation of the champagne.
Bitter grapefruit, red fruits mentioned above, and flower taste could be picked up first. Soon, the taste is turned into a bready or yeast taste and ends with bitterness. The bitterness is not caused by tannin. It is pure bitterness. It keeps its existence throughout the tasting time. About the carbonic acid, it feels lesser except for the first kick on the roof of the mouth. After one hour, the weak carbonic acid decreases even more, which turns the champagne into a bitter fruit soda.
Due to the taste being unsuitable for the price, it is not worth recommending to the people who like champagnes. However, it could be a good choice for an event or party in which appearance is essential.
In my personal opinion, Since there are good alternatives in this price range, a repurchase should not be conducted.
